    1.   Coaxial Transmission Line. Velocity of Propagation, Impedance Matching
    2.   Waveguide. Microwave Detection, Impedance Matching, Cavity Q
    3.   Optical Fiber. Numerical Aperture, Attenuation
    4.   Helium, Neon, and Helium-Neon Laser Spectra
    6.   Introduction to Computer-Assisted Experimentation
    9.   Photoelectric Quantum Yield, h/e: Photoelectron Spectroscopy
    11. Franck-Hertz Experiment: Electron Spectroscopy
    12. Isotope Structure and Fine Structure of Hydrogen: Optical Spectroscopy
    13. Molecular Structure and Properties of 14N2: Optical Spectroscopy
    15. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance: Radio-Frequency Spectroscopy
    16. Electron Spin Resonance: Microwave Spectroscopy
    18. Interaction of Gamma Rays with Matter
19  Compton Scattering: Gamma Ray Spectroscopy

Experiments that are not in The Art of Experimental Physics that will be available during the workshop:

    a. Transverse Modes of a Helium-Neon Laser
    b. Tunable Diode Laser with Grating Feedback
    c. Doppler-Free Saturated Absorption
    d. Cooling and Trapping Atoms

Copies of these four experiments and a copy of the Instructor’s Manual for The Art of Experimental Physics will be mailed to each participant. All of the above experiments are described in the Instructor’s Manual.

    WORKSHOP MATERIALS:

    Please bring:

    1. A copy of The Art of Experimental Physics.
    2. The Instructor's Manual for the above book.
    3. Any materials you would like to share, e.g., a lab manual,  write-ups for particular experiments,  information on equipment, data, slides,          transparencies, etc.
    4. Copies of the above four experiments that are not in The Art of Experimental Physics.

    WORKSHOP PREPARATION:

Select six experiments from the above list of experiments. Rank the six experiments from 1 through 6 with number 1 being the most preferred. Assuming you are invited and accept the invitation to attend the workshop, include your list of six experiments with your acceptance letter. I will attempt to arrange it so that you perform some of the experiments that you list.

Use the Instructor's Manual and "dry lab" the six experiments prior to arriving.
