Continuing northward the fault crosses the campus of Contra Costa College in the City of San Pablo. Can you see where the fault is deforming the lines of bricks in this patio area? The Hayward fault offsets curbs, sidewalks and fences as it cuts across the campus.
The northern end of the Hayward fault can be found on the northwest
(left side of photo) side of Point Pinole Shoreline Regional Park before
the fault disappears under the waters of San Pablo Bay. In this picture,
the fault is located at the break in slope where the people are walking.
